Teething. What are all the wonderful things I could say about teething? Let's start!
All the wonderful things about teething:

Oh yeah... There is nothing wonderful about teething. Dealing with a teething baby is like climbing a nail cover mountain, barefoot, in the pouring rain . Your little person feels awful, which in turn makes our lives as parents living hell. The screaming, the drool... Ugh! It's awful. Seriously about the drool though... Holy sweet mother of God this kid is a faucet....
Teething is when teeth are growing in, and breaking through the gums. (Pretty self explanatory, but I'm sure there are some people who don't know what it is.) Teething can began anywhere from 1 Month- 9Months and can last until they are 3 or older. All 20 primary teeth must come in for teething to be done. Lucky us, right?
Symptoms of teething can include; fussiness, fever, excessive drooling, slight rash, and lack of appetite. Symptoms for parents can include insanity, the need to day drink, and the urge to drop your baby off at Babies R Us and run away.
Luckily we live in a day and age where modern medicine is available! Tater has had a really rough time teething... Which has made all of our lives a living hell. This also means we have put every over the counter "cure" to the test, and I thought I would share our discoveries with you all! Now remember EVERY baby is different so what works for us, might not work for you. None of the products/manufactures have paid me for this post, these are my honest opinions. I will be rating them on a scale of 1-5 Binkies (Because you know, I couldn't do anything like Stars) 1 being the worst, 5 being the best. I will include where to find them, for how much, and an Amazon Link.

  1. Hyland's Teething Tablets

Rating: 5/5 Binkies
These are FANTASTIC. You place two small tablets on the tongue every few hours as needed. They are homeopathic, and I really like all that the Hyland's brand stands for.
I purchased mine at Kroger for $5.99 but you can find them on Amazon by clicking here!

   2. Hyland's Teething Gel
Rating: 3/5 Binkies
This product works, and again is all natural. The issue is when you have a teething baby they last thing they want you to do is stick your fingers in their mouth, and rub shit on their gums. The application is impossible. Sadly, I won't be buying or using these again.
I bought mine at Walgreens for $8.99. You can find it on Amazon here!

Rating: 1/5 Binkies
Tylenol is great for post shot pain, and fever reduction. It did nothing for Tater's teething discomfort. Please consult your Pediatrician for proper dosage before giving tylenol.
I bought the generic Target brand for $3.08. You can find it on Amazon here!

4. Infant Motrin
Rating: 3/5 Binkies
Mortin did a lot more than tylenol, but it was only a 2 hour relief window. I give it before bed so that way he is calm enough to fall asleep. I still don't like giving it to him because of chemicals.
I bought mine at Walgreens for $11.99 for a 2 pack. You can find it on Amazon here!

5. Freezer Teething Ring
Rating: 4/5 Binkies
At first I HATED these things. Tater would scream bloody murder if you gave him one. Then I discovered that freezing them makes it too cold for his hands and mouth. I then put them in the fridge. They wouldn't get cold enough. I was a total loss. That is when my genius husband suggested putting them in a bowl of cold water in the fridge! Bingo! This makes them the perfect temperature. We have the Nuby brand and love them. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are super soft, so I'm afraid he is going to pop one.
Mine were a gift, but you can find them on Amazon here!

6. Razberry Teether
Rating: 1/5 Binkies
This thing is garbage... It lasted literally 45 seconds before he ripped a hole in it. A total waste of 5 dollars.
I'm not even posting a link, that's how much I hate it.

Now, I want to talk about Orajel. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU GIVE YOUR CHILD ORAJEL. Unless it is Benzocaine free like the naturals brand. I can't stress that enough. As always when giving your child anything please consult your pediatrician first.

I hope this was helpful! Teething is a bitch and a half. I hope you all are making it through!
