Sweaty Chins

I've always really sucked at trying to lose weight. I love food, and I really love binge watching Netflix. Since having a baby I've been trying to make better choices to get a little healthier. In April I was doing really good, then May happened and I was still doing good, but not as good. Well yesterday I did something I REALLY hate doing... I stepped on the dreaded scale. I was SO not happy with what those numbers read... To add insult to injury I found a picture from high school with B and myself. Back then I thought I was SO fat, but really I was pretty damn cute. Isn't that funny? We never realize how good we look until you have a baby and feel like a blue whale stuck on a beach.

After stepping on the scale, I looked in a full length mirror and just wanted to cry. I feel so sad about the way I look. None of my jeans fit (STILL!) so I'm pretty much just living in Yoga pants, or just staying away from the public eye. Seeing the way I REALLY look absolutely lit a fire under my ass. Today is the day I change everything.
I began last night by searching work outs, healthy eating recipes, and all sorts of random goodness on Pinterest...( I know, I know... I'm a basic white girl) I found all sorts of things like 30 day challenges, and organic Kale smoothies (GAG.)  I saw Mom workouts, non mom workouts, flat belly diets, and butt busting videos. I also saw a lot of #fitmom posts... We all know how I feel about hashtags.
Needless to say I was a little overwhelmed with all the choices I had. There are so many "quick fixes" out there, but I don't want a quick fix. I want a healthy way to do this so I can feel confident in myself again. That very moment is when a light switch went on in my head. None of these 'Lose 10 pounds in 3 days' are going to work. I NEED to do the work. I need to eat better, work out harder, and drive for a better life. With all this heavy on my mind, I set an alarm clock for 6:30 a.m. ( Now I love mornings, I really do. But I like mornings around 8am. If I get up at 6 am, that means I'm really into something.) By 6:45 I was out the door and headed for a walk.( I REALLY hate running, unless it's of the horizontal assortment)

I've been using my Fitness Pal for awhile, and I also downloaded an App called Run keeper. (It tracks your pace, your distance, and puts it on an awesome little map for you!) I only did 2.14 miles, in about 45 minutes. I was literally sweating my Chins off.... It was so gross but felt so good.

Now that I've rambled, I think the real point I'm trying to make is you aren't going to do something unless you really have the drive.
I would love to hear some of your fitness stories, successes and failures. I will keep you all posted on how this goes, and hopefully we can celebrate some small, and large victories together.
Have a lovely Monday!
